Meet One Of The Faces Behind Wainwright EyeCare

I’m Bonnie Veitch, the proud co-owner of Wainwright EyeCare

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I’ve always subscribed to the old adage that our eyes are a window to the world, so we should take good care of them. It inspired me to take up a role dispensing eyewear for a local optometrist. I soon grew fascinated with helping excited customers pick out new frames.

I then began my studies at Nait for the next two years, achieving my licence to practice as a Licenced Optician. Subsequently, after a decade of gaining valuable experience, I began to dream about starting a dispensary, and on-site lab of my own. So, after doing thorough research, I launched an eyecare enterprise with my husband who became my lab technician twenty-eight years ago.

In the early years, we worked hard as a duo to establish our store’s reputation. Our dedication soon rubbed off on our son, Jon. He decided to join us after completing his studies at Douglas College where he acquired both the Optician and Certified Contact Lens Practitioner licenses in 1998. 

As a family business, we have grown stronger and built long-lasting relationships. As a result, I believe what sets us apart is our honesty and integrity. I also attribute our success in gaining patients’ trust when helping them choose the perfect pair of glasses.

We derive great pleasure in serving our close-knit community. As lifetime residents of a small town, we have been fortunate to have the support and loyalty of our valued customers and friends.

Through their patronage, our business continues to grow and prosper. As a result, in October 2020 we were able to relocate from our downtown space into a brand new spacious location.

Our store was renovated with a fresh boutique-style look so that we can offer a unique gallery of frame options. I am passionate about searching for the latest optical trends in eyewear to create happy customers. 

Providing the best service possible to customers is our humble endeavor as it leads to word of mouth referrals, which fills us with immense satisfaction. It’s also rewarding to be recognized by our peers.

While my business keeps me busy, when I’m not assisting individuals with eyecare, I love volunteering in our community gardening, reading, and spending quality time with friends, family and my eight grandchildren.

I’m a long-standing member of the Wainwright Quota Club. This non-profit organization assists the hearing impaired, and destitute women and children along with fundraising for local charities and community needs.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
